Message Sounds like your referring to this, or something similar,

In regards to the OP, I have this on the turbine housing of my single turbo'd RX-7 and it cuts down heat radiating to the surrounding components tremendously. It might be overkill on the testpipes and it's a bit more pricey than the DEI titanium wrap stuff, which I would try first if I were you. I sent my DP and MP out to a company called Polydyn for their heat coatings on my DP and MP and it worked great at cutting down the heat that radiates in the passenger side leg and foot area on an RX-7. Price-wise, it's in the middle of the Inconel shields and the DEI titanium wrap, although it hasn't flaked off in 4 years of ownership, like some other companies coatings. I did the DEI wrap in addition for the claimed sound reduction, but felt it did nothing in that area.

LJZTT does bring up an excellent point in regards to the heat being restrained in the exhaust in his other post. I've always felt that if some heat doesnt radiate outwards then it has to stay in and effect spool, increase EGTs, etc. But there really is no data out there that I know of (or actually dug into looking for) that compares the 'before and after' results.
